Notes on Your Urb.Style Products
Welcome to Urb.Style! Here you will find important information on the use, care, and assembly of our premium furniture pieces in industrial design. If you have any questions, you can reach us at any time at hallo@urb.style or via our contact page.
Material and Design
Our products, such as the XAVER Wall-Mounted Clothing Rack, are made primarily from "black threaded pipes" of iron. The surface features a slightly glossy dark grey to anthracite finish that may vary depending on the light.
- Irregularities: Scratches, abrasions, or scuff marks are part of the manufacturing process and are intentionally incorporated into the design — they make each piece unique.
- Tip: These characteristics enhance the industrial charm of our collections, such as the LIA Freestanding Clothes Rack.
Care and Cleaning
Upon delivery, the products may have a protective oil film that prevents rust and soiling during transit.
-
How to clean properly:
- Wipe the pipes with a dry cloth or the cotton cloths included in the package.
- Avoid water or washing-up liquid — they can cause rust.
- The film will dissipate on its own within a few days — until then, avoid hanging delicate garments on the rack.
- Recommendation: For stubborn residue, we offer additional cotton cloths.
- More info: Check out our care instructions.
Intended Use
Our furniture pieces, such as the FRIDA Clothing Rack with Wooden Shelf, are designed for storage purposes (e.g. clothing, depending on the model).
- Important: Improper use (e.g. as sports equipment) can cause damage, as our products are not designed for such loads.
- Tip: Use them as intended, and they will last a lifetime!
Safety Information
The threads on our products may have sharp edges.
- Caution: Take care during assembly and handling to avoid injury.
- Recommendation: The work gloves included in the package will protect your hands.
Assembly
Assembly is carried out at your own risk — but we support you with clear instructions!
-
Steps:
- Follow the assembly instructions, which you can find as a link in your order confirmation.
- Tighten the threaded connections firmly — if necessary, use a pipe wrench (with a cloth in between) to turn them one more rotation.
- Check the stability and position freestanding models such as the BEN Freestanding Clothing Rack against a wall.
- Recommendation: For easier assembly, use the Pipe Wrench Set or Pipe Nipple 3/4".
- Questions?: Write to us at support@urb.style.
Special Feature: Oak Wood Floors
Oak wood contains tannic acid, which can react with metal and moisture, potentially causing black stains.
-
Prevention:
- Use the included felt pads at all contact points with the floor.
- This will protect your floor from discolouration.
- Treating stains: Use a specialist tannic acid stain remover spray (available at specialist retailers).
- Recommendation: Our Stylish Felt Baskets offer additional storage space and protection.
